Schleich Wild Life Crocodile

Crocodiles are the largest reptiles in the world and closely related to birds (!). Both species are descended from the Archaosaurs. Of all crocodiles, the saltwater crocodile is the most dangerous. This species holds the record for the largest crocodile. The animals can weigh 1,000 kilograms, as much as a small car. While most crocodiles live in rivers and lakes, the saltwater crocodile is the only one of its kind that can survive in both fresh river water and salty seawater. Apart from the saltwater crocodile, there are 25 other species. These include, among others, Nile crocodiles, armored crocodiles, alligators, and caimans.
