What we make you responsible for
The Home & Living division at Trademart has grown rapidly in recent years, expanding from 10.000m² to 17.000m² of showroom space, now home to 450 brands. The division includes four subcategories: Kitchen & Dining, Decoration, Furniture and Design & Gifts. Recently, we’ve added a Cash & Carry section, broadening our appeal to diverse purchasing audiences.
With a growth target to 25.000m² by 2027, we are ambitious about the future of Home & Living at Trademart.
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in realizing this growth vision. Your primary responsibility will be to attract new brands that align with our existing categories and to introduce fresh concepts that cater to our market. Brands can opt for various levels of participation, including temporary buying and inspiration events, seasonal participation, or a permanent presence. A key initiative in the pipeline is the launch of ‘Interior Solutions,’ a concept tailored to the project market, specifically addressing the needs of professional designers and corporate clients.

Your key responsibilities include:
Market Expansion: Lead our growth strategy for the Home & Living division by attracting brands that strengthen our existing categories and by actively contributing ideas for new concepts. Your market insights will be essential in bringing forward relevant and innovative ideas that align with our vision for growth. By closely tracking trends and understanding customer needs, you’ll help ensure our concepts stay aligned with evolving market demands. Additionally, regular participation in international trade fairs will keep you connected to market trends and enable you to build valuable relationships with prospective exhibitors and industry partners.
Client-Centric Solutions: Offer tailored participation options that align with both the short- and long-term goals of our partners, recommending solutions that maximize their visibility and impact. Stay agile, adjusting pricing propositions when needed to ensure competitiveness and optimal value for our partners.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure all sales initiatives are cohesive and targeted. Regularly share industry insights, competitor analysis, and evolving strategies with the Trademart team to keep everyone aligned and prepared.
Partnership Development: Build and nurture connections with industry associations and professionals to stay attuned to sector trends and emerging opportunities, positioning Trademart as a well-informed and strategic player in the market.
Seamless Onboarding: Collaborate with technical colleagues from the initial proposal stage to ensure all technical requirements are met, leading to a smooth and successful setup. Once onboarded, transition clients to an account manager for continued support and relationship building.

To excel in this role, you bring:
Experience & Insight: A minimum of 5 years in business development or acquisition-focused roles, ideally within retail, B2B or the trade fair sector. Familiarity with the Home & Living industry is a strong advantage, as is an established network that can enhance your effectiveness.
Goal-Driven Track Record: A proven history of meeting acquisition targets and driving strategic growth initiatives, equipping you to make a meaningful impact on Trademart’s success and market expansion.
Strategic & Innovative Vision: You have a strategic mindset and innovative insight, enabling you to think creatively about expanding our offerings and adapting our approach to meet evolving market demands.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills that make you a credible and persuasive partner at all levels, whether collaborating with colleagues, engaging with clients, or representing Trademart with industry associations.
Multilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Dutch, French, and English to communicate effectively within our diverse, international network.
